Luc­know to host state’s first zoo con­fer­ence

LUC­KNOW: For the first time, Ut­tar Pradesh will host a four-day an­nual con­fer­ence of the In­dian Zoo­log­i­cal Gar­dens from No­vem­ber 12.

The Cen­tral Zoo Au­thor­ity is or­gan­is­ing the mega event in which di­rec­tors of 30 big zoo­log­i­cal parks from across the coun­try will par­tic­i­pate.

Apart from dis­cussing prob­lems be­ing faced by the zoo­log­i­cal parks, the di­rec­tors will also dis­cuss in­no­va­tive mea­sures taken to im­prove work­ing of their parks. This in­for­ma­tion was given by RK Singh, di­rec­tor, Nawab Wa­jid Ali Shah Zoo­log­i­cal Gar­den, Luc­know.

In the con­fer­ence, 10 re­source part­ners will also par­tic­i­pate who will share their ex­pe­ri­ences.

Mem­ber sec­re­tary of the Cen­tral Zoo Au­thor­ity Dr DN Singh will rep­re­sent the Cen­tral gov­ern­ment and Dara Singh Chauhan, for­est min­is­ter in the Yogi gov­ern­ment, will in­au­gu­rated by con­fer­ence. On the sec­ond day of the con­fer­ence on No­vem­ber 13, del­e­gates will visit Nawab­ganj Bird Sanc­tu­ary and Kan­pur Zoo­log­i­cal Gar­dens for a study tour.

On the third day of the event on No­vem­ber 14, del­e­gates will visit Luc­know Zoo and croc­o­dile breed­ing cen­tre at Kukrail .
