All should join hands to ensure world peace, says Adityanath
LUCKNOW: “Along with our country, we are equally responsible for ensuring world peace,” said chief minister Yogi Adityanath, while inaugurating the first day of the International Conference of Chief Justices of the world at CMS, Kanpur Road here on Saturday. The event is being organised to reach out to chief justices and judges across the world to stand by Article 51 of the Indian constitution. The article talks of ‘promotion of international peace and security.’
“Article 51 of the Indian Constitution has provisions for world peace and we must try to uphold it to provide a safe future for our children,” Yogi said, adding, “We must understand that people from all over the world must come together to achieve this.”
Yogi went on to congratulate the participants that include over 400 delegates from countries across the world. “Functions like this will go a long way in achieving what we envisage about a peaceful, prosperous future,” said Yogi.
UP assembly speaker Hriday Narain Dixit hailed the effort, saying India had played a pivotal role in ensuring world peace and would continue to do so. “The idea of peace is instilled in the mind of every Indian and through such programmes, we may take this idea to different countries and understand how they perceive world peace,” he said.
The delegates from the world were later welcomed by union health minister JP Nadda and Lucknow mayor Sanyukta Bhatia in a function organised in the evening. Nadda and Bhatia also interacted with the delegates and assured their support to efforts for world peace.
