ExMLA at it again: Assaults 2 officers in two days

BAHRAICH: Former MLA Dilip Kumar Verma, who allegedly beat up Nanpara tehsildar on Friday, continued his strong arm tactics on Saturday. The former MLA allegedly rebuked and thrashed a circle officer in Nanpara Kotwali in the presence of additional district magistrate Suresh Verma and ASP (rural) Ravindra Kumar Singh.

Verma, the husband of BJP MLA from Nanpara, Madhuri Verma, had thrashed tehsildar Madhusooda­n Arya on Friday. The tehsildar lodged an FIR in connection with the matter. ADM Suresh Verma and ASP Ravindra Singh were inquiring into the matter when Verma reached Nanpara Kotwali with his supporters and thrashed Nanpara circle officer Vijay Prakash Singh. CO Nanpara Vijay Prakash said that on Saturday, Verma reached the Nanpara tehsil office along with his supporters. They asked for the tehsildar but he was not present in office. The CO said he lodged a complaint against the MLA for his misconduct. On being asked, the CO said that Payagpur circle officer Triyambak Nath Dubey was the investigat­ing officer in the matter and further action will be taken on the basis of his report. CO Dubey said the police are collecting all the records and action will be taken on the basis of the evidence. Taking serious note of the matter, ASP rural Ravindra Singh, SDM Payagpur Santosh Singh, along with a heavy police force, took out a paddle march in Nanpara area to avoid any untoward situation.
