Final list of exam centres to be out by November 30
PRAYAGRAJ: The final list of examination centers for Uttar Pradesh Board’s 2019 high school and intermediate exams will be uploaded on board’s website by November 30, 2018, said a board official.
As per reports, the board officials after taking cognizance of discrepancies in earlier list of centers, which had included schools where mass copying was reported last year besides those schools which did not fulfill the requisite parameters, had ordered revision of the list. Board secretary Neena Srivastava had directed all district inspector of schools (DIOS) last month for ensuring removal of all discrepancies on the list failing which they would be held responsible for any untoward incident during the examinations scheduled to commence from February 7, 2019.
The secretary informed that all efforts were being made to hold a copying free exam next year. For the 2019 examinations, as many as 57,87,998 examinees, including 32,03,041 in high school and 25,84,957 in intermediate exam, have been registered.
This year, the total count of examinees has registered a dip of 8.52 lakh in comparison to that of last year. In 2017-18, 66.39lakh students had registered for the twin examinations.
Sources said the dip was largely due to strict measures adopted by the board to check copying.
