UP, Haryana wrestlers excel
LUCKNOW Hosts Uttar Pradesh and defending champions Haryana shared day two honours at the 32nd All India Postal Wrestling Championship as they won two gold medals each, at the KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium here on Tuesday. Sanjay Rai and Vinay Kumar Yadav of UP and Karmpal and Kuldeep from Haryana finished top in different weight categories. Bihar’s Rakesh Kumar won gold in 130 kg category.

Uttar Pradesh Football Sangh on Tuesday announced its team for the Dr BC Roy Trophy Junior National Championship, scheduled to be held from November 30 at Cuttack. The team members are: Satyendra Singh Yadav (captain), Naved Azmat, Satyam Singh Bisht, Gaurav Maurya, Ankit Chaudhary, Farhan, Amir, Yashraj Thapa, Divyanshu Mishra, Atul Kumar Singh, Imran, Waqar, Sameer, Azeem, Mehul Sapra, Sheikh Bahadur Thapa, Subham Singh, Nandan Yadav and Himanshu Rai.
VETERANS BADMINTON
The two-day District Veterans Badminton Tournament will be held on December 8 and 9, at the UPBA Academy here. Players aged between 35 to 70 years in different categories can take part. Selected players would be participating in the State Championship, scheduled to be held from January 4 to 6 at Agra.
HANDBALL TEAM
Manjula Pathak of Railways would be leading India at the 17th Asian Women’s Handball Championship, beginning Thursday at Japan.

Rudransh Club scored an easy seven-wicket win against SIC in A division cricket league, at the LDA Stadium here on Tuesday. After skittling out SIC for paltry 106 in 23.4 overs, Rudransh Club romped home in 25.4 overs. In C division, Paramount Cricket Club beat RKB Cricket Club by 108 runs.
