HELPFUL IN EARLY DETECTION

▪ For most cancers (excluding blood cancer) a tissue biopsy is performed in which a sample of the tissue is taken from any part of the body and sent to a pathology lab to check for cancer. Liquid biopsy is a simple and non-invasive alternative to surgical biopsies.

▪ Liquid biopsy is most effective in detection of gall bladder, breast, prostate and

colon cancers.

▪ It is helpful for detection of cancer at an early stage to help plan treatment, to find out how well treatment is working and even to ascertain if the cancer has come back.

▪ Surgical biopsy is an invasive technique performed by a surgeon and tissue may be limited where as a blood sample can be taken multiple times.
