HELP­FUL IN EARLY DE­TEC­TION

▪ For most can­cers (ex­clud­ing blood cancer) a tis­sue biopsy is per­formed in which a sam­ple of the tis­sue is taken from any part of the body and sent to a pathol­ogy lab to check for cancer. Liq­uid biopsy is a sim­ple and non-in­va­sive al­ter­na­tive to sur­gi­cal biop­sies.

▪ Liq­uid biopsy is most ef­fec­tive in de­tec­tion of gall blad­der, breast, prostate and

colon can­cers.

▪ It is help­ful for de­tec­tion of cancer at an early stage to help plan treat­ment, to find out how well treat­ment is work­ing and even to as­cer­tain if the cancer has come back.

▪ Sur­gi­cal biopsy is an in­va­sive tech­nique per­formed by a sur­geon and tis­sue may be lim­ited where as a blood sam­ple can be taken mul­ti­ple times.
