LUCKNOW: Youngsters suffering from stress, addiction or going through a bad phase due to break-ups have help at hand – in the form of a mobile app.

The mobile app, ‘Coffee with Coach’ has been developed by Happiness Solutions, an organisation working on a goal of mentally healthy India. It will help a person to get appointment with a happiness coach at one of the coffee shops. “It’s a unique initiative where a person in need of counselling can meet a coach free of charge at a coffee shop with which we have a tie- up. The meeting is confidential and requires people to pay only for their coffee while they get solution to their problems. After the first session, the person may opt for the second one or may not,” said Rajesh J Singh, founder CEO, Happiness Solutions.

“Youths in stress often do not wish to see a doctor. Hence, meeting a happiness coach at a place like a coffee shop will certainly help. It has been seen that a large number of cases get solved in just one session. So, meeting a coach via the app will certainly help more youngsters in stress open up,” said Dr Manju Agrawal, dean and professor, psychology at Amity University.

The app can work problems like stress, relationships, rejections, blame, shame, anxiety, pessimism, loneliness and parent-child issues. It can be downloaded on the cell phone, added Singh.

“Right now, we have five coaches to discuss the issues and more shall join. Our mission is to spread awareness about mental health,” said Singh.
