GORAKHPUR: UP minister Om Prakash Rajbhar on Friday hailed MP Savitri Bai Phule, who announced to quit BJP on Thursday.

Talking to media in Gorakhpur, Rajbhar, who is the chief of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, an ally of BJP in the state government, said, “I support the decision of Phule of quitting the BJP. MPs have to answer to people and the administration doesn’t listen to them. No one listens to MPs and MLAs.”

He also said that the recent violence in Bulandshahr is a conspiracy on part of the BJP which is trying to polarize Hindu votes for 2019 election.

On when he will leave the BJP, Rajbhar said, “I am independent and will be with the BJP till they want me. I don’t speak anything against the BJP or the state government but only the truth.”

He said people should not get into Hindu-Muslim divide trap because when such things take the shape of riots, it is only the common man who suffers. “No leader gets killed in riots. Only Hindus and Muslims die,” he said.

On whether he will go with SP and BSP, Rajbhar said, “If both the parties come together, the BJP will face a lot of problems and if big brother (BJP) will not show honesty we will also think over the issue.”
