Minor killed in Tripura for refusing marriage proposal

AGARTALA: A 12-year-old girl was buried after strangulation for allegedly refusing a marriage proposal given by a 31-year-old married man at East Manikya Dewan village, Gomati near Agartala. Banjoy Tripura (19), one of the accused, was arrested Wednesday.

The main accused Kostorai Tripura (31) was absconding, police said. The victim was on her way to school when Kostorai obstructed her way and proposed to her. As she declined, Kostorai attacked on her head and strangulated her before burying her to destroy evidence.
