‘DECISION ON RAM MANDIR AT DHARMA SANSAD’
LUCKNOW: Head of the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas Mahant Nritya Gopal Das on Monday stated that saints would take a decision on construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya at the two-day ‘Dharma Sansad’, to be held in Prayagraj during Kumbh.
The Dharma Sansad on January 31 and February 1 is slated to be one of the most important events at the Kumbh in which millions of devout Hindus are expected to take part.
Das, who also heads the all-powerful Mani Ram Das Chavni Peeth in Ayodhya, was in Lucknow on Monday while returning from New Delhi after attending ‘Ayodhya Parv’ event. The Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas is spearheading the Ram temple movement across the country.
“The Supreme Court must also respect sentiments of the Hindu community. How long the Hindus will have to wait for the court’s order for construction of Ram Mandir,” Das told newsmen.
“Sentiments of the Hindu community were hurt after the Supreme Court extended date for hearing of the Ayodhya dispute,” he added.
On the Modi government’s refusal to bring an ordinance in Parliament for construction of Ram temple, Das said: “Even today the Hindu community has much expectation from Modi when in it comes to construction of the temple in Ayodhya.”
He also accused the Congress party of causing hurdles in construction of the temple.
“It was the Congress that caused delay in hearing of Ram Mandir issue in court (Supreme Court),” said Das.
Recently, Modi gave a statement that his government will wait for the Supreme Court’s decision on Ram temple before bringing ordinance in Parliament.
IN SUPREME COURT
A new three-judge bench will be formed by the Chief Justice of India before January 10 to hear the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case and any further orders on the land dispute in Ayodhya will be passed by the bench.
“Further orders in the matter will be passed on January 10 by the appropriate bench, as may be constituted,” a bench comprising Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi and Justice SK Kaul had said on January 4 while hearing the Ayodhya title dispute.
On January 10, the new bench will fix a schedule for the decades-old title dispute and decide whether it should be taken up on a daily basis.
