Decides to transfer moveable, immoveable properties to a super specialty paediatric hospital and a post-graduate institute in Noida

The state cabinet on Tuesday decided to do away with dual tax on ethanol blended petrol, thereby paving way for marketing of ethanol mixed petrol in Uttar Pradesh, a government spokesman said.Minister for medical and health and Sidharth Nath Singh said the union government had informed the state government that blending of ethanol in petrol was not picking up due to dual taxation.

LUCKNOW The state cabinet on Tuesday decided to do away with dual tax on ethanol blended petrol, thereby paving way for marketing of ethanol mixed petrol in Uttar Pradesh, a government spokesman said.

Briefing journalist­s, minister for medical and health and Sidharth Nath Singh said that the union government vide its letter dated 03/08/2018 had informed the state government that blending of ethanol in petrol was not picking up due to dual taxation.

He said Value Added Tax was paid on petrol needed for blending and on the ethanol blended petrol too.

The state cabinet had, therefore, decided not to levy dual tax on the blended petrol sold in the state.

NOIDA TO TRANSFER PROPERTY TO SUPER SPECIALTY PAEDIATRIC HOSPITAL

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath presided over a meeting of the state cabinet that also decided to transfer free of cost Noida’s moveable and immoveable properties to a super specialty paediatric hospital and post graduate institute being run by the state medical education department. Noida had set up the hospital and owns the property of the institute.

The Medical Council of India’s norms require the institute to own the premises to run certain courses there.

FISHERIES POLICY

The state cabinet approved a fisheries policy to grant contract/lease for fishing in rivers and running water in accordance with orders of the Allahabad high court on October 24, 2018.

The district magistrate will set up a four-member committee to be headed by the respective sub divisional magistrate­s at the tehsil level. The committee will conduct a survey of rivers to identify areas for fishing by April 2019. The fishing cooperativ­e societies of respective villages will be eligible to get contract/lease for fishing. In villages having more than one

cooperativ­e society, the contract/lease will be given through auction. The applicatio­n period for the auction will be 21 days and the process will be completed by May-June 2019. This will generate revenue for the state government. Fishing will not be allowed between June 1 and August 31.

MINING LEASES TO BE RESERVED

The state cabinet decided to reserve mining leases in order to provide minor minerals for works carried out by the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Developmen­t Authority and Dedicated Freight Corridor Cor- poration of India. The public works department and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) had returned 13 reserved leases and the reservatio­n of mining leases will be done from within these ‘returned’ mining lease sites.

SUB-COMMITTEE TO BE SET UP

The state cabinet decided to set up a sub-committee to consider recommenda­tions of the Fifth State Finance Commission. The state cabinet decided to table an action taken report on the recommenda­tions in the state legislatur­e.

LEASE RENT REDUCED FOR ETHANOL PLANT SITE

The cabinet approved a proposal to bring down the lease rent from 5% per annum to 2.5% on 50-acre land of Dhuriapar Kisan Sahkari Sugar Mills Limited (Gorakhpur) given to Indian Oil Corporatio­n on 30-year lease. The Indian Oil Corporatio­n will set up second generation ethanol plant on the land with an investment of Rs 800 crore. The estimated lease rent will be about Rs 65 lakh in the first 10 years. It will go up to about Rs 97 lakh in the 11-to-20 year lease period and Rs 1.30 crore in the 21-to-30 year lease period.
