MEERUT: The court of the Bulandshahr chief judicial magistrate on Wednesday granted to the police 12 hours’ remand of Prashant Nat, the accused in the murder of inspector Subodh Kumar Singh during the Bulandshahr mob violence on December 3 last year.

Police had demanded 48 hours’ remand but the court granted only 12 hours. Police took Nat to Chingrawathi village to recover the clothes he was wearing at the time of the violence, which was triggered by the recovery of several cow carcasses.

Thereafter, Nat was lodged in jail again in the evening. The SP said that pistol used in killing the inspector had not been recovered yet but efforts were on to find it.

THEREAFTER, NAT WAS LODGED IN JAIL AGAIN IN THE EVENING. THE SP SAID THAT PISTOL USED IN KILLING THE INSPECTOR HAD NOT BEEN RECOVERED YET BUT EFFORTS WERE ON TO FIND IT.
