UPERC APPROVES TRANSMISSION TARIFF
LUCKNOW:The UP Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) on Wednesday pronounced its order on the transmission tariff approving a hike which is less than what the UP Transmission Power Corporation Ltd (UPPTCL) had proposed.
“The approved tariff will benefit distribution licencees as well as consumers,” the commission said in its order signed by UPERC chairman RP Singh and two other members, adding, “Taking strict view, the commission disallowed some part of the proposed expenditures relating to operation and maintenance.”
Against the 0.2370 per unit tariff as proposed by UPPTCL, the commission approved ₹0.1906 per unit.
The commission, however, approved the open access transmission charges ₹0.1905 per unit as proposed by the UPPTCL.
UP Rajya Vidyut Upbhokta Parishad president Awadhesh Kumar Verma welcomed the tariff order.
“The lower tariff will benefit consumers as UPPTCL charges from discoms for using its transmission networks and the discoms in turn pass on the burden to consumers,” he said.
UPERC also asked UPPTCL to submit actual details of investment and capitalisation showing scheme wise details, including the funding of individual projects taken in investment and capitalisation for last 3 years during next tariff proceedings along with other directions.
