Six killed in bus-truck col­li­sion

LUCKNOW: Six peo­ple, in­clud­ing a young woman and her mi­nor daugh­ter, were killed while 41 oth­ers were in­jured when a ce­ment laden truck rammed into a bus fer­ry­ing pas­sen­gers on Na­tional High­way -2 in Kalyan­pur area of Fateh­pur dis­trict on Sun­day morn­ing. Six se­ri­ously in­jured pas­sen­gers were rushed to a Kan­pur hos­pi­tal while oth­ers were be­ing treated at Fateh­pur dis­trict hos­pi­tal. Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, the in­ci­dent hap­pened near Mohar vil­lage when the bus was head­ing to­wards Fateh­pur from Kan­pur and sud­denly the truck came in front after its front tyre burst, at around 11.20 am. A gypsy and two mo­tor­cy­clists also rammed into the bus from be­hind after its head-on col­lided with the truck. Fateh­pur su­per­in­ten­dent of po­lice (SP) Rahul Raj con­firmed that at least six peo­ple in the bus were killed while 41 oth­ers, in­clud­ing the truck driver, the gypsy driver and two mo­tor­cy­clists, in­jured in the ac­ci­dent. He said those killed were iden­ti­fied as Shikha Tri­pathi, 25, her five-year-old daugh­ter, Ankit Te­wari, 20, Rati­ram, 40, Fayyaz, 50, Vrin­da­van, 55. said the bod­ies have been sent for post-mortem while in­jured were rushed to dif­fer­ent hos­pi­tal, he added.
