LUCKNOW : Red and yellow fruits and vegetables have anti-ageing properties and can help you look good, said Dr Rama Srivastava, addressing the 17th annual conference of the All India Cosmetologists and Beauticians Association (AICBA) here on Sunday.

“They may not be very good in taste but can reduce the wrinkles in the neck area by muscle strengthening. You just need to ensure you consume them in correct proportion,” said Dr Srivatava. She added two tablespoon of flax seeds could add to better results.

Dr Srivastav said face reflects the state of well-being.

“Problems that are often dismissed as trivial, such as sudden change in complexion, can be a sign of something serious,” she added.

“Poor food intake in a bid to lose weight will make you look dull, no matter how much cosmetics you put on. Beauty is correlated to healthy and balanced diet and positive thinking,” said Dr Srivastava, founder of AICBA.

Experts from different fields delivered lectures upon healthy skin and lifestyle. Dr Sanjay Arora gave delivered lecture upon hypertension and also narrated how it could be controlled by some lifestyle and diet changes.

Expert stylists including Harish Bhatia gave tips to the participants including over a 100 beauticians and home makers on skin and hair care.

“Our aim was to educate beauticians as they come in contact with women from all walks of life. If beauticians can guide people on styling and choosing the right cosmetics, why can’t they guide them on leading a healthy lifestyle,” said Dr Srivastava.
