SIX HYV REBELS RETURN TO FOLD

-

GORAKHPUR : Six rebel Hindu Yuva Vahini (HYV) leaders rejoined the saffron outfit on Wednesday in presence of BJP MLA from Dumariyaganj Raghvendra Pratap Singh. “They had lost their way for some reason, but they are back now with us to work with same ideology,” said MLA Raghvendra Pratap Singh. Upset over ticket aspirations being dashed, the leaders, led by HYV prominent leader Sunil Singh, a long time associate of Yogi Adityanath, had rebelled and later formed a splinter group, Hindu Yuva Vahini Bharat, just ahead of the 2017 assembly election. The HYV is said to have played a major role in giving a push to Yogi Adityanath’s agenda of Hindutva but remained largely dysfunctional after Yogi took over the reins of the state. Interestingly, the development comes close on the heels of the release of Sunil Singh who was booked under NSA and jailed for six months after a clash between HYV and HYV Bharat leaders over a Facebook post by HYV leaders, who dubbed HVY Bharat as a fake organisation in October last year. While six of those who left with Singh rejoined HYV on Wednesday, Singh was not among the returnees.
