ALIGARH:Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has asked Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP) to clarify their stand on the issue of candidates of scheduled castes (SCs), scheduled tribes (STs) and other backward classes (OBCs) not getting reservation benefits at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

He was addressing a gathering at AMU here on Wednesday. Chief minister arrived ahead of party president Amit Shah here and welcomed him at helipad.

The CM said the Centre was giving crores of rupees to AMU, yet it failed to adhere to the guidelines on reservation to SC, ST and OBC. However, the opposition parties were not coming clean on the issue as they were preoccupied with appeasement politics. “Only in the BJP, a booth president can become the national president or an ordinary party worker can rise to the position of the prime minister,” he said. This could never happen in the BSP, the SP or the Congress as they only think of their own families, he added. “The time has come to inform the people about the negative politics of these parties and re-elect the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls,” he said. He said, “Electricity is being supplied to remote villages, and gas connections are being made available to marginalized families, toilets have been built for every section of society without any caste or religion differences. Western UP was plagued by riots and poor law and order situation. Now we are in position to guarantee security and employment to all.”
