Category A (mild)
Mild fever

Action: Avoid contact with others to contain infection
Category B (moderate)
High fever and severe sore throat
High-risk patients such as children below the age of five, pregnant women, people above age 60, people with chronic heart, kidney, liver disorders, diabetes or HIV, and those on immunosuppressant medicines.
Action: Home isolation, treatment with oseltamivir (Tamiflu)
Category C (severe)
Flu symptoms mentioned above
Breathlessness, chest pain, drowsiness
Drop in blood pressure Sputum mixed with blood and bluish discolouration of nails.
Worsening co-morbid chronic conditions
Action: Immediate hospitalisation and treatment.
