UP Board exams begin amid tight vigil
LUCKNOW : The first day of Uttar Pradesh Board High School and Intermediate examinations passed off peacefully, barring some anomalies and technical glitches at some exam centres, on Thursday. Exams began amidst tight security and CCTV vigil at all exam centres and officials deployed at these centres remained on their toes throughout the day in order to conduct free and fair exams.

Exams began amidst tight security and CCTV vigil at all exam centres and officials deployed at these centres remained on their toes throughout the day in order to conduct free and fair exams.
In the first shift of the exam, 612 students of class 10 appeared for the music paper. In the same shift, some intermediate students took carpentry, book craft and stitching exams. While, in the second meeting intermediate students took psychology, education and logic examinations.
On the first day, deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma inspected a few examination centers. Deputy CM, accompanied by the officials, inspected Navyug Inter College, Maharaja Agrasen Inter College and Gurunanak Girls Inter College, Basmandi. At the examination centers, he also checked working condition of CCTV cameras and voice recorders, which were found in working condition.
In the second shift, RK Tiwari, additional chief secretary and other higher secondary education officers also visited centres and carried out inspection.
Officials came across some anomalies during the inspection at Rajkiya Inter College Nishatganj, MKSD Inter College where some students were taking exams without ID Cards. The flying squad warned them to carry their ID cards further. Some centers, including Girdhari Singh Inter College witnessed power failure after which the examinations were conducted in candle light as the generator and invertors also went out of order.
On first day, around 32 exam invigilators remained absent. Some of the complaints regarding defunct CCTV cameras were also reported from Raj ki ya Is ht bad hit Inter College and Lala Ganesh Prasad Balika Inter College, Gosaiganj.
In class 12 carpentry paper (in first meeting) 2 students were present against two enrolled. In book craft exam 154 were present against 167. In stitching 29 were present against 33 enrolled.
In second meeting, in class 12 psychology exam 470 students were present against 486 enrolled. In education exam 8961 were present against 9604 enrolled. And in logic or reasoning exam all 22 students remained present.
