Interviews for PhD seats begin at LU

LUCKNOW: Interviews for the allocation of PhD seats in Lucknow University (LU) began from Thursday, university officials said.

“The candidates are being interviewed by a panel of faculty in the respective departments,” said NK Pandey, spokesperson, LU.

Over 7,000 candidates had taken the entrance exam in November last year.

LU has decided to allocate 514 seats for PhD in different departments this year. The number is 20% lower than the 648 allocated last year.

At least 34 faculty members have written to the V-C to increase the number of PhD seats. Their demand is being discussed by a panel, said Pandey.
