LMRC acts against graffiti on its properties
LUCKNOW : Thinking that it is a proven way to boost sales, advertising companies are not even sparing Lucknow Metro pillars and walls of its stations, putting up illegal hoardings and advertisements. The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation conducted a special drive to clean metro pillars and other properties of unauthorized advertisements and hoardings on Thursday.
MD LMRC Kumar Keshav said, “The advertisers had defaced the metro properties and pillars by pasting advertisements on them. This is against the Lucknow Metro’s vision of ‘Clean Metro-Green Metro’. That is why the LMRC team conducted a special drive to clean the Metro pillars of unauthorised advertisements and hoardings on Thursday morning. The drive was conducted from Chaudhary Charan Singh (CCS) Airport to Munshipulia station of LMRC.”
During the drive, the posters/ advertisements were removed from the Metro pillars of the entire North-South corridor.
Keshav said, “It was observed that a few advertising agencies, local vendors and other organisations were using these Metro pillars for advertising without the Lucknow Metro’s consent. This is illegal and if this mistake is repeated the LMRC would be free to take legal action. Lucknow Metro had to conduct this drive as the posters/hoardings were not taken off despite repeated requests.”
