BJP says TDP trying to scuttle Modi rally in Andhra

VIJAYAWADA: A senior BJP leader Friday alleged that the Telugu Desam Party led by Andhra chief minister N Chandrabab­u Naidu refused to give permission to use a ground in Visakhapat­nam for an election meeting, to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on February 27. BJP floor leader in the Andhra assembly P Vishnukar Raju Friday told Hindustan Times that the party’s applicatio­n for organising a public meeting on the Engineerin­g College grounds of Andhra University in Visakhapat­nam has been turned down by vice-chancellor G Nageswara Rao at the behest of TDP government. The BJP has been levelling similar allegation­s against the TMC government in West Bengal.
