‘LAW, ORDER HAS COLLAPSED’
LUCKNOW: Leader of opposition and veteran Samajwadi Party (SP) member Ahmad Hasan on Friday said the Yogi Adityanath government had failed on all the fronts and its claim of having provided a fear-free atmosphere was false.
On the contrary, he said, the law and order situation had collapsed and the crime graph had gone up in the state.
Hasan was participating in the post-lunch discussion on the governor’s address in the Vidhan Parishad. He said the government had discontinued several welfare schemes like the Samajwadi pension, laptop distribution while the education and the health departments were in a shambles.
“The governor’s address is, therefore, is nothing but a bundle of lies,” Hasan concluded. Earlier, the SP staged a walkout from the Upper House over the OBC and ST reservation in higher educational institutions. Raising the issue during the adjournment motion, SP members Naresh Uttam and Vasudev Yadav, Rajesh Yadav and others said the students belonging to OBC, SC and ST categories were not getting their due in the higher educational institutions. Not satisfied with the government response, the members staged a walkout.
The SP members also staged a walkout over the killing of a Dalit at a village in Maharajganj district on February 7.
Congress’s Deepak Singh and Naseemuddin Siddiqui walked out of the house, protesting against the government’s failure to deal with the problem of abandoned animals. The Congress also alleged corruption and irregularities in management of the Kumbh.
