-

LUCKNOW:An admission conclave ‘Study in Estonia’ will be held at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University here on Monday where the north European nation will be presented as an alternative destination for engineering students to pursue higher education abroad.

AKTU will also sign a letter of intent with Riho Kruuv, ambassador of Estonia to India in this regard, said the technical varsity VC Vinay Pathak.

“Usually it is UK, US, Germany and Australia that Indians look forward for higher education till now. But with visa issues with these countries and extremely high cost of education as well as living students are in a lookout for new destinations. Estonia has emerged as the new hot spot for studies with its competitive fee structure and scholarship options in comparison to other leading study abroad destinations,” Pathak said. A press statement issued by AKTU quoted Riho Kruuv saying, “Estonia is an innovative digital society that offers excellent opportunities for study at worldclass universities at affordable prices. It’s also one of the most developed digital societies in the world. It is the startup haven of Europe. We look forward to see Indian students come to Estonia for study and work for trend setting companies.” Spokesperson for Study Estonia, Payal Rajpal said “The European country’s higher education focuses on strong links with industry. As a student one will be able to gain practical experience and even design one’s own startup or launch own nano satellite.” She said the programme was launched in India last year to encourage students to take up courses in Estonia.
