By 2022, free health services for all: Nadda
GORAKHPUR :Union health minister Jagat Prakash Nadda on Sunday said that free medical health services will be available for all persons up to the age of 30 by 2022, and announced “By 2022, all people up to the age of 30 will not only get free health check but also free medical treatment and for this our government is transforming primary and community health centres into health and wellness centres and more than 20,000 health wellness centres have been made so far.”
Nadda was speaking after inaugurating Guru Gorakhnath Nursing School and College of nursing.
While criticising previous governments on health issue, Nadda said, “Earlier campaigns were run to control diseases after the occurrence of diseases but the Modi government is making such an arrangement under which diseases are controlled before occurrence. Earlier, different policies were made for different health campaigns but the Modi government is taking everyone from disease to no disease.”
While enumerating the achievements of the government, the Minister said, “In the last four years, 118 medical colleges were opened and 18,635 medical seats were increased.” Nadda also said that under the Prime Minister’s Dialysis Scheme 1.5 lakh people had taken the facility of free dialysis so far.
Under the Ayushman Scheme, more than 11,80,000 people had benefitted within just four months. In previous governments only 61% children were vaccinated but under the Modi government, 85% children were vaccinated and the target for the end of this year has been set at 90%.
