AC­QUI­SI­TION OF LAND: FARM­ERS WRITE TO PM MODI IN BLOOD

VARANASI: At least 200 farm­ers on Sun­day wrote to PM Naren­dra Modi in their blood de­mand­ing that the ac­qui­si­tion of their land for Mo­hansarai trans­port na­gar scheme should be can­celled and their land be given back to them. Farm­ers from Bari­van, Kan­nadadi, Saraimo­han and Milki Chak vil­lages gath­ered in a gar­den at Baira­van. They ex­tracted their blood and wrote to the PM to draw his at­ten­tion to­wards their de­mand. The farm­ers de­manded that the ac­qui­si­tion should be can­celled and their land be given back to farm­ers. “The gov­ern­ment ac­quired our land for the scheme about two decades ago. Af­ter the ac­qui­si­tion, we were ne­glected so­cially and also not be­ing given the ben­e­fit of any gov­ern­ment scheme. We want our land back,” said Moorat Pa­tel, a farmer.
