ACQUISITION OF LAND: FARMERS WRITE TO PM MODI IN BLOOD

VARANASI: At least 200 farmers on Sunday wrote to PM Narendra Modi in their blood demanding that the acquisition of their land for Mohansarai transport nagar scheme should be cancelled and their land be given back to them. Farmers from Barivan, Kannadadi, Saraimohan and Milki Chak villages gathered in a garden at Bairavan. They extracted their blood and wrote to the PM to draw his attention towards their demand. The farmers demanded that the acquisition should be cancelled and their land be given back to farmers. “The government acquired our land for the scheme about two decades ago. After the acquisition, we were neglected socially and also not being given the benefit of any government scheme. We want our land back,” said Moorat Patel, a farmer.
