Akhilesh welcomes Cong roadshow

AGRA: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Monday welcomed the Congress roadshow in Lucknow and said political parties should continue organising such events. Replying to a question from reporters in Firozabad, he also said, “We are in alliance with BSP, but we do have other parties too with us, including the Congress, the Rashtriya Lok Dal and regional parties like the Nishad Party. With some of these parties, we were in alliance for the Lok Sabha election, and with others it was for the Vidhan Sabha poll.” The SP was in alliance with the Congress for the 2017 assembly election in Uttar Pradesh. He also said voters were in the mood for change and they were going to have a new prime minister. Yadav was in Firozabad on Monday to attend a private function. He clarified ‘Samajwadi people’ were not in the race to become prime minister.
