MODI WILL VISIT SEOUL TO RECEIVE PEACE PRIZE

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to travel to South Korea in the last week of February to receive the Seoul Peace Prize, a trip that is expected to be one of his last major foreign policy engagement­s before the general elections. Modi is expected to be in Seoul during February 21-22, when he will also hold talks with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, people familiar with developmen­ts said. Last October, Modi was named the recipient of the 2018 Seoul Peace Prize for his contributi­ons to internatio­nal cooperatio­n and the growth of the Indian and global economies. He is the 14th person to be awarded the prize establishe­d in 1990 to commemorat­e the success of the Olympic Games in Seoul and to crystallis­e the yearning for peace on the Korean Peninsula.
