Dwarka pontiff to proceed to Ayodhya on February 17

PRAYAGRAJ : Shankarach­arya of Dwarka Peeth Swami Swaroopana­nd Saraswati announced here Monday that he will proceed to Ayodhya from Kumbh on February 17 and lay the foundation stone of Ram temple there on February 21.

The Shankarach­arya, who was at Mankameshw­ar Temple near Sangam, said he was determined to pave the way for the constructi­on of Ram temple as the government and other Hindu outfits weren’t serious.

He is to proceed from mela area on February 17 at 1pm and halt the night in Pratapgarh while on February 18 he would make a night halt at Sultanpur.

After proceeding from Sultanpur on February 19 morning he will reach Ayodhya the same day.

On February 20, he will address seers and devotees in Ayodhya while on February 21 he will perform a ‘puja’ before laying foundation stone of the Ram temple there.

The head of Dwarkapeet­h said his devotees and he were ready for consequenc­es arising out of heading to Ayodhya.

The Dwarka seer had organised a three-day ‘Param Dharam Sansad’ at the Kumbh Mela between January 28 and 30 where he had announced that he would proceed to Ayodhya to lay foundation of Ram temple.
