After Raj, Chhattisgarh govt renames five schemes
RAIPUR: Taking a cue from the Congress-ruled Rajasthan, the Chhattisgarh government Tuesday renamed five schemes that were named after Jan Sangh leader Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, according to a government order issued late on Monday. Among the schemes renamed were: Deendayal Upadhyaya Swavlamban Yojna as Rajiv Gandhi Swavlamban Yojna, Deendayal Upadhyaya LED Path Prakash Yojna as Indira Priyadarshini LED Path Prakash Yojna and Deendayal Upadhyaya Sarvasamaj Manglik Bhavan Yojna as Dr BR Ambedkar Sarvasamaj Manglik Bhavan Yojna. The BJP said the step indicated “political vindictiveness” and “dynasty politics”.
