‘Lucknow Metro one of the safest transit systems in the world’

LUCKNOW: Lucknow Metro is one of the safest rapid transit systems operating in the world, claimed LMRC MD Kumar Keshav.

“The telecom system installed in trains and at stations is the most advanced in terms of technology, catering to the safety and security needs of Metro commuters,” he said. “The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has ensured smart, affordable, convenient and safe mode of mass rapid transit system (MRTS) for passengers, adding to the trust and faith that Lucknowites have on Lucknow Metro,” he added.

SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM

The CCTV systems installed at Metro stations and in trains are capable of self-analysing the scenarios in its view. For example, if there is a huge crowd in front of ticket counters, it will automatically raise an alarm for the station controller, said Keshav.

For safety of women and senior citizens, the system detects any loitering in unauthorised areas and sends information to the station control room (SCR) via an alarm. If any passenger leaves his baggage by mistake or there is any unattended bag (object), it will be communicated to the station controller within 3 minutes. Moreover, a help phone has also been installed in the middle of the platform area.
