Soon, campaign to seek Rashtra Mata status for cow

LUCKNOW: With the Lok Sabha elections round the corner, the right-oriented Akhil Bharatiya Gau Raksha Mahasangh has decided to launch a campaign to declare cow as ‘ Rashtra Mata’.

Uttar Pradesh would be the focus of the associatio­n’s cow protection campaign, said a press release issued by national president of the Mahasangh Kelim Bharati, here on Wednesday. At a convention of the mahasangh held in Delhi, former national general secretary (organisati­on), BJP, Sanjay Joshi, who was the chief guest, said protection of cow was important.

only then can it be described as Gau Maata,” he said, according to the release.

Kelim Bharati said that in the 13 months of the establishm­ent of the organizati­on, a lot of work had been done to for cow protection. “It shows how active the people associated with the organizati­on are and we hope that the decisions taken in this convention would be implemente­d soon.”
