PUBLIC MANIFESTO

‘LEADERS MUST SHUN VIP CULTURE’

- Ruby Rai, doctor

India got freedom from the British rule over 70 years ago, but we still see signs of inequality and reflection of the feudal mindset. The way our leaders treat the common man is a glaring example of this mindset. While general commuters hustle on the road to reach their destination, our leaders move in convoys, for which traffic is blocked. Office-goers, children on their way to school and ambulances are stopped to make way for the VVIPs.

It is now time to stop this practice. I want the leaders to pledge to do away with the ‘VIP culture’ when they come to power.

They must get the same facilities as their voters, only then we could dream of a truly democratic nation.
