Patient dies, family alleges medical negligence

LUCKNOW : Family members of a 50-year-old patient, who died during treatment at KGMU, here on Sunday, complained to the university authorities of medical negligence by doctors. The patient Y Singh, a native of Shahjahanpur, was admitted to respiratory ICU at KGMU a week ago, but he died on Thursday. The family has now contacted the medical university authorities alleging that Singh died due to laxity in treatment. However, Prof Surya Kant, HoD, denied the allegation and said, “All medical attention was given to the patient. Staff also attended him properly. There was no laxity.”
