Improve ease of doing biz: Prabhu
LUCKNOW :Union commerce and industry minister Suresh Prabhu on Monday stressed on improving the ease of doing business in all districts across the country so as to target a GDP growth of around 3-4% in each district.
He advised exporters to use the ministry’s all-purpose Niryat Mitra app.
The minister was addressing members of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Lucknow, through video link.
Prabhu said: “Exporters can now log their grievances, apply for various licences, view their status using the ministry’s Niryat Mitra app, besides accessing information about the latest trade notices, circulars, foreign trade policy and trade fairs.”
He also highlighted detailed export promotion strategy, which has been prepared by the department of commerce and is under implementation.
The minister said for the first time, India’s FDI had touched a new high of $62 billion and exports had registered the highest ever growth of $335 billion.
“The agricultural export policy has been framed to take exports to a high of 100 billion dollar,” the minister said.
For promotion of traditional craft, the minister said: “Artisans involved in traditional craft, geographical indications are being promoted and stalls are being provided in airports to promote geographical indications traditional products with the first airport being in Goa.”
Mukesh Bahadur Singh and Gaurav Prakash, co-chairmen, Uttar Pradesh Chapter, along with Anuradha Goel, resident director, Uttar Pradesh chapter, PHD Chamber, led the session. It was attended by over 50 senior members of the chamber and industrialists.
