More than 100 students felicitated
LUCKNOW: Over 100 meritorious students from different districts of Uttar Pradesh were felicitated at a grand event organised by Hindustan daily in collaboration with Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) here on Thursday.
The event saw the participation of more than 300 people, including parents and guardians of students, who got shortlisted for the felicitation programme labelled as ‘Hindustan Olympiad’.
The event was initiated in 2018, under which Hindustan carried out exams in schools from class 1 to 12, in various districts, including Lucknow, Sitapur, Balrampur, Faizabad, Basti, Gonda, Ambedkar Nagar and others.
The students, who scored extraordinarily well in the exam were shortlisted to be felicitated at the event. Rajvir Singh, senior divisional manager, LIC, was the chief guest of the function held on Thursday.
“It’s indeed a big day for me. It’s perhaps for the first time I am being felicitated at such a big platform,” a meritorious student from Basti district said.
The student said such exercises are very important in keeping students, especially the ones who hails from the small districts, motivated and focussed.
Of those, who got felicitated at the event, Janvi Kashyap of Government Girls Inter College, Neha Singh of SDSN Public School, Abha Kashyap of Saxena Inter College and Mansi Kashyap of Saxena Inter Colleges were from the state capital.
