He said after completion of 60 years, the workers would get a pension of Rs 3,000 per month under the scheme.

“Necessary action should be taken to cover 42 million workers in the unorganised sector with this pension scheme under PMSYM,” Pandey added.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi would formally inaugurate the scheme at the Centre at 11:30 am on March 5 and arrangements should be ensured in each common service centre at district level.

Pandey said under the scheme, workers would have to contact the common service centres in connection with the registration of their Aadhaar number, saving /Jan Dhan account and they would have to voluntarily accept this pension scheme and submit their details. The amount of contribution related to the account concerned would be transferred through auto debit card of LIC of India.
