Law student beaten to death

LUCKNOW : A 24-year-old law student was allegedly kidnapped and beaten to death by SUVborne men here in Indira Nagar police area on Wednesday night.

Police said the attackers fled after leaving the victim, identified as Sufiyan Raza, profusely bleeding near CIMAP colony on Picnic spot road. He was rushed to the trauma centre of King George’s Medical University (KGMU) where he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday early morning.

Initial police probe suggested Raza was attacked over some monetary as well as personal dispute. Further investigat­ion into the matter is still on.

Inspector of Indira Nagar police station, Phool Chand said the victim’s family told that Sufiyan Raza was a student of LLB first year from a college in Ambedkarna­gar district and he was returning to his home near Khurramnag­ar after attending the college at around 8.30pm.

The family alleged that six SUV borne youths kidnapped him after pulling him down from a tempo in which he was travelling and took him towards picnic spot road. They said the miscreants beat him brutally and fled after dumping him on the roadside.

The inspector said six people namely Adil Siddiqui, Ayush Yadav, Yaseen Gaddi, Rehan, Musheer and Imran have been accused in the FIR registered in the matter. He said the FIR of unintentio­nal killing under IPC section 304 has been registered and it could be further altered under IPC section 302 for murder as per the findings of the postmortem examinatio­n.
