LUCKNOW: Police on Saturday announced a reward of ₹1lakh for providing information about the three miscreants involved in the sensational dacoity at RK Jewellers’ shop in Alambagh market and killing of two persons in the incident, on March 2.

Two people including the shop’s gold artisan, Guddu Patwa and security guard of an adjoining ATM booth, Desh Raj, were shot dead while the shop owner, RK Gupta and a woman staff were shot at by the criminals.

Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Kalanidhi Naithani said, “The reward will be given to the person who will provide any specific tip off about the miscreants involved in the crime. The person can inform additional SP (crime) AP Singh and deputy SP (crime) Deepak Kumar Singh, on their mobile numbers 9454401089 and 9454401186, respectively. The identity and details of the informer will be disclosed.”

Even week after the loot of cash and ornaments worth ₹4 lakh, police have failed to make any breakthrough into the incident. However, officials’ privy to the investigation, claimed that they have managed to find the escape route of the three miscreants through recreation of the crime sequence.

“We recreated the scene with help of the two staff of the jewellery shop, who are eyewitness to the crime and escaped in the incident, besides multiple video footages collected from the area,” said additional SP said.

He said that the crime scene recreation was done twice on the basis of information provided by the two eyewitnesses separately. “We are analyzing both the recreations and trying to find out whether it is similar or there is some difference,” he said.

The deputy SP said that the recreation also helped finding out multiple footages of CCTV cameras installed at different points in which three miscreants were seen riding on a bike moving towards Sindh Garments shop. They were then found entering in a lane heading towards railway’s sleepers’ ground which opens up on Para road.

“No video footages of the miscreants was found beyond the sleepers’ ground that suggests that they headed to Mohan Road via Para after committing the crime,” said the deputy SP.

According to police, the incident had taken place when owner of the RK Jewellers, Rajiv Gupta, was closing his shop at Alambagh market under Krishna Nagar police area. Three robbers approached the place on a motorbike and opened fire. Gupta suffered three bullet wound, who is still undergoing treatment in a hospital.
