Padmavat Express set to give passengers all-new experience

LUCKNOW: Passengers on the Pratapgarh-Delhi Padmavat Express are set for an all-new experience with the Railways set to launch the train in totally new avatar, probably in a week or two. Northern Railways (NR) officials said the new version of the train would be introduced shortly.

The old blue-coloured coaches have been replaced by upgraded ones, labelled as ‘Utkrisht’ coaches. Utkrisht coaches are painted in a different colour scheme and are equipped with several ultramoder­n features, NR officials said.

They said these coaches are a part of the Railways’s drive to develop around 640 Utkrisht coaches to upgrade its mail and express trains at a total cost of Rs400 crore.

Lucknow Division (NR) railway manager Satish Kumar said that the train has an allnew look, enough to give a different travelling experience to passengers.

“All coaches are in a new colour, including interiors and exteriors. The exterior is beige in colour while interior of the train has been painted maroon,” Kumar said.

In addition, the interior of the coaches have sceneries and massive paintings, giving it an altogether different look. Besides, the coaches have also been fitted with advanced toilet fittings.

“The old wash basin and other fittings have been replaced with Korean material wash basins, grab handles for elderly, LED tube lights and PU painted toilet interiors,” he added.

He said that the coaches will also boast of LED screens, in order to highlight important informatio­n related to the train’s movement.
