Trader ‘shot at’: Cops fail to get conclusive evidence in case
LUCKNOW: Alambagh police have failed to procure conclusive evidence that can corroborate the claims made by a trader, Jasvir Singh Dua, who was allegedly shot at by two criminals in front of the Durgapuri Metro station, while the latter was on his way to Aunt’s home on Sunday night.
On Monday, the police team, investigating the firing incident, could not find any blood stain from the spot and evidence that can help corroborated his claim. Even they failed to find any clue from the CCTV footages recovered from the area.
According to police, one Virendra Singh Dua, brother of Jasvir, lodged a complaint with Alambagh police station on Sunday night, alleging that two brothers, Mahesh and Deepak opened fire at his brother Jasvir Singh Dua in front of the Durgapuri Metro station when he was going to his Aunt’s home. Jasvir sustained bullet injury in his arm in the incident and was rushed to a trauma centre for treatment.
Mahesh and Deepak are close relatives of Vikram Manwani (a trader) whose brother Mukesh Manwani was allegedly murdered by Jasvir in 2017.
Based on the complaint, police lodged an FIR in the matter and started investigation into the incident. However, due to lack of solid evidence, investigators have asked the complainant to submit more proofs which could support the case.
Meanwhile, relatives of the accused have filed a cross complaint against the trader on Monday. “We are probing the allegations and also the counter allegations before arriving at a final conclusion. The CCTV footages, mobile location of the accused and the complainant will also be verified,” said Sanjeev Sinha, CO, Alambagh. A police officer privy to the case said that Jasvir was the prime accused in the murder of one Mukesh Manwani and was out on bail.
