Family hands over list of demands to CM
Compensation, security cover, job to the eldest son, firearms licence, installation of Kamlesh’s statue and a road named after him in Khurshed Bagh area of Lucknow

LUCKNOW: The family members of Hindu Samaj Party (HSP) leader Kamlesh Tiwari met chief minister Yogi Adityanath at his 5 Kalidas Marg official residence on Sunday morning.
Those who went to meet the CM included Kamlesh’s mother Kusum Tiwari, wife Kiran Tiwari and two sons along with some office bearers of the HSP. The family members handed over an 11-point list of demands to the CM, including compensation, security, and job to the eldest son, firearms licence, installation of Kamlesh’s statue and a road named after him in the area.
Tiwari’s family members, who had shifted to their ancestral village Sitapur to perform the last rites were brought from in Sitapur to the CM residence under heavy police security at 10.30 am. Senior administration and police officers accompanied the family. The meeting with CM continued for over an hour. During the meeting, the CM summoned DGP OP Singh, head of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) SK Bhagat and divisional commissioner Mukesh Meshram. He directed the officers to nab the killers and ensure security to the family members. An office bearer of the HSP, Rajesh Mani Tripathi, said the HSP would launch a statewide agitation if the state government failed to fulfill all the demands of the family.
After meeting the CM, Ti war i’ s wife Kiran Tiwari said the CM had assured them that justice will be done. “We demanded capital punishment for the murderers and he assured us that they will be punished.”
The state government has already announced security to Tiwari’s family members and issuance of a licensed firearm. It is also expected to announce monetary compensation, a government job to Tiwari’s son along with a house for the family.
Tiwari was associated with the Hindu Mahasabha in the past, but he quit the organisation and formed the Hindu Samaj Party in January 2017. He had filed a civil petition in the Supreme Court in 2011 challenging Allahabad High Court’s decision to trifurcate the disputed site of the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid in Ayodhya.
