Tourist spot in each Lucknow assembly seat to get makeover
BOOSTING TOURISM Each constituency to get ₹4.5 crore for spot development
LUCKNOW : Tourist spots in each assembly constituency of the state capital would be renovated under the Chief Minister Tourism Development Scheme as per the proposal mooted by the MLAs of the areas concerned.
The move will help in the revival of these spots and boost tourism in the state capital, said regional tourist officer Anupam Srivastava.
A budget of ₹ 4.5 crore has been allocated for upgrading a tourist place in each assembly constituency, said Srivastava while insisting that the work to restore lost glory of Lucknow’s tourist spots had already begun.
All local MLAs have given the proposal to develop tourist spots in their constituencies.
In Mohanlalganj, Rakeshbir Baba talab near Samesi village would be renovated.
“Here railing would be erected and a park would be developed. It would have benches, interlocking pathway, solar lights and parking,” said the tourism officer.
He said the MLA of the area Ambrish Singh Pushkar had come up with the proposal.
The area around Old Shiv Temple in Malihabad would be also renovated and all sorts of civic facilities would be developed around the area.
“The streets would be cleaned up, some shops would be erected and street lights would be installed across the area as per the proposal of the MLA of area JayaDevi,” said the official.
Another area chosen for the development is ‘Akdaria ki Maa Lasa Devi Temple where interlocking of the pathway leading towards temple would be carried out besides beautification of surrounding areas.
Avinash Trivedi, local MLA has proposed the work.
Other area chosen for development is ‘Gaur-Dhuli Talab’ in Sarojini Nagar constituency.
Here, the historic pond would be renovated and staircases would be made for the devotees.
Minister in UP cabinet Swati Singh is the MLA of the area. She came up with the plan of beautification and renovation.
In area near Buddheshwar temple, interlocking of pathway would be carried out and renovation of Sitakund pond would be performed as per the proposal of local MLA Kumar Srivastava.
Similarly, Old Kali temple in
Chowk would also be further renovated and fitted with new sound system along with construction of some civic amenities for the devotees.
The MLA of area Neeraj Bora has proposed the work.
Areas around Hanuman Temple in Kapoorthala, Aliganj would be developed as per the suggestion of the MLA, who is also minister of urban development Ashutosh Tandon.
The area around Nageshwar Mahadev Temple in Rakabganj would be developed on the recommendation of MLA and minister Brajesh Pathak.
Sahasoveer temple in Ashutosh Nagar would be beautified on the recommendation of MLA Suresh Chandra Tewari. The temple is over hundred years old and is in a very bad condition.
Minister of urban development Ashutosh Tandon said, “The chief minister must be complimented for such a scheme to promote tourism. The places selected by the public representatives would be renovated, beautified, cleaned etc. The prime focus is to develop Uttar Pradesh as a tourism hub. Also, if required, the road leading to these tourist spots will also be repaired for the convenience of tourists.”
