LU releases dates of PhD entrance and annual exams

LUCKNOW: Lucknow University(LU) released the date sheet for upcoming PhD entrance exam on Saturday, it is available on the official website of the university.

The PhD exam and annual examination are scheduled from March 16. The university on Friday first announced the cancellation of all exams before taking back the decision within hours.

LU spokesperson Durgesh Srivastav said, “The PhD entrance exam will be held between March 16 to 19 as per earlier schedule. We have released the date sheet of the exam.”

As per the datasheet, entrance examination for subjects of commerce will be held on March 16, followed by arts on March 17, science on March18 and education, law and fine arts on March 19.

“The university has announced to take strict precautions in view of coronavirus. All benches, chairs, door knobs, hand rails will be sanitised before exams using alcohol based sanitizers.

Napkins will be kept in every exam hall and we will arrange a separate pedal dustbin to dispose off used napkins,” said Srivastav.

Lucknow university registrar Vinod Kumar Singh said, “The arrangements will be done for both, the annual and PhD entrance exams. We are taking all possible measures to prevent exposure of students to Covid-19.”

The University has also suspended all other educational activities in the campus till March 22. Other universities have also suspended their education activities in view of coronavirus.

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) announced to postponed the interview scheduled for Ph.D admission till further notice.
