No accident this year: Railway minister
VARANASI : Union railway minister Piyush Goyal said on Saturday that all railway employees are dedicated and working hard due to which not a single accident occurred this year (in the last one year).
The railway minister was at the Diesel Locomotive Work (DLW) here, where he dedicated and flagged off the electric rail locomotive WAP7-loco number 37349 manufactured in the DLW.
“All railway employees are doing their duties with dedication and working hard round the clock due to which not a single accident occurred this year. The safety of passengers will be upgraded further by making the train journeys more comfortable. We will add to the glory of Indian Railways,” Goyal said.
Goyal said that that the railway family of 13 lakh people (employees) is one. It includes employees, officers and board members. “I told in the parliament that with the joint efforts, the Indian Railways will become number one in the world. We will achieve this goal,” he said.
He said that the railways has created many records this year. DLW has produced 295 electric locomotives against the target of 315 this year. Goyal set a target of producing at least 501 electric locomotives by DLW in the financial year of 2020-21.
The minister also offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Baba Kaal Bhairav temple here.
