Abdullah’s passport may be seized
BAREILLY:, March 16 The passport officer has issued a notice to seize the passport of Samajwadi Party MLA Abdullah Azam, son of Rampur MP Azam Khan.
BJP leader Akash Saxena had filed a case against Abdullah Azam in the Civil Lines police station in this regard.
Aakash Saxena wrote a letter to passport officer Bareilly a few days ago to seize the passport of Azam. Taking this letter into consideration, passport officer Bareilly Naseem Ahmed has given a third (final) notice to Abdullah Azam and asked him to surrender the passport. “After the High Court’s decision, it has been proved that his date of birth is not September 30, 1990, while he has shown the same date of birth in his passport,” he said. The FIR mentions that there is a difference between the date of birth mentioned in Abdullah’s educational certificates and passport.
“Abdullah Azam Khan’s date of birth in educational certificates from High School, B Tech and M Tech is January 1, 1993. While in the passport the DOB mentioned is September 30, 1990. The passport is used for financial gains through trade and business-related foreign tours and is also used as an identity proof in various positions,” it read. Abdullah had earlier got into a controversy when in a veiled jibe at BJP leader and former actress Jaya Prada he said, we want both “Ali and Bajrang Bali,” but not “Anarkali” during the Lok Sabha campaigns in April this year.
