GREATERNOIDA:A 35-year-old security guard was booked for allegedly molesting a woman in Shahberi. The woman said that she was alone at home when the one Krishna barged in and tried to sexually assault her.

The woman lives with her family members in Shahberi. Her husband works as a driver who sometimes goes leaves town for work. The woman said that a few days ago, she was sleeping at home when Krishna, who works as a security guard at a residential society, barged into her room. “The suspect gripped my arms and tried to force himself upon me. He started beating me when I resisted the sexual assault,” she stated in the complaint.

“The suspect touched me inappropriately and also tried to gag my mouth. I raised an alarm and some neighbours rushed to the spot. The suspect fled after threatening me with dire consequences,” she said.

Harish Chander, deputy commissioner of police, Noida Central, said that the investigation showed that the two families— that of the security guard and the woman—lived in the same neighbourhood and did not get along. “The two families have clashed with each other. First, the security guard had filed a complaint of beating against the woman. The woman then filed a counter-complaint alleging beating and molestation,” he said. Based on the complaint, the Bisrakh police have registered a case against the security guard under Section 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restrain), Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), Section 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), and Section 354 (Assault of criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code. “A primary investigation shows the allegation of molestation is not true. We are investigating the matter from all angles,” the DCP said.
