WOMAN THROWS FIVE KIDS IN GANGA

VARANASI: A woman re­port­edly threw her five chil­dren, in­clud­ing a three-year-old boy, into the Ganga near Ja­ha­gira Ghat in Bhadohi district on Sun­day fol­low­ing an al­ter­ca­tion with her hus­band. All chil­dren are feared drowned, po­lice said. Po­lice said that Mridul aka Munna, a res­i­dent of Ja­ha­gira vil­lage, had an al­ter­ca­tion with her wife Manju who re­port­edly asked money from him for meet­ing do­mes­tic ex­penses. Af­ter some­time, she threw chil­dren into river.

Po­lice said that Mridul aka Munna, a res­i­dent of Ja­ha­gira vil­lage, had an al­ter­ca­tion with her wife Manju who re­port­edly asked money from him for meet­ing do­mes­tic ex­penses. Af­ter some­time, she along with her all five chil­dren reached the ghat and threw the chil­dren-Shiv Shankar (8), Keshav Prasad (3) and Puja aka Saraswati (6) and two oth­ers aged 10 and 12- into the river. She also jumped into the river with an in­ten­tion to end her life but changed her mind later and swam out of the river. She kept sit­ting on the bank of river af­ter throw­ing her chil­dren into it.

Some lo­cals, who were work­ing in the nearby fields, rushed to res­cue the chil­dren but could not save them.

District mag­is­trate Bhadohi Ra­jen­dra Prasad and su­per­in­ten­dent of po­lice Ram­badan Singh reached the spot and in­spected the spot. Two teams of divers were de­ployed to find out the bod­ies of the chil­dren.

Su­per­in­ten­dent of po­lice Ram­badan Singh said that the divers had been de­ployed to find out the chil­dren. DM also con­firmed that it was af­ter quar­rel, the woman threw her five chil­dren into the river.

Ac­cord­ing to some lo­cals, the men­tal con­di­tion of woman was not sound but on the con­trary her hus­band claimed that she was men­tally fit.

Her hus­band said that why his wife took such an ex­treme step, was not known.

THE MEN­TAL CON­DI­TION OF WOMAN WAS NOT SOUND BUT ON THE CON­TRARY HER HUS­BAND CLAIMED THAT SHE WAS MEN­TALLY FIT.
