GORAKHPUR : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has earned praise on social media for setting an example of developmen­t and ordering demolition of part of the boundary wall of Gorakhnath temple and its 200 shops for constructi­on of the 17-km Jangal

Kaudia to Mohaddipur fourlane project. The boundary wall and 50 shops had been razed using JCBs, said PWD NH project manager MK Agarwal. He said the constructi­on work of the fourlane road was to be completed by June 30.

GORAKHPUR: Social media has lauded chief minister Yogi Adityanath for setting an example of developmen­t and ordering demolition of part of the boundary wall of Gorakhnath temple and its 200 shops for constructi­on of the 17-km Jangal Kaudia to Mohaddipur four-lane project.BJP leaders posted photos showing huge clouds of dust engulfing the outer part of Gorakhnath temple as JCBs pulled down dozen of shops.

They termed the activity as ‘vikas ki aandhi in Gorakhpur’ ( the winds of developmen­t) under the CM’s leadership

The boundary wall and 50 shops had been razed using JCBs and the constructi­on work of the four-lane road was to be completed by June 30, said PWD NH project manager MK Agarwal.The

majestic white marble temple building housing hundreds of shops stands en route the proposed project.

Along with temple’s boundary wall, over 200 shops on its premises as well as encroached ones on the stretch will also be demolished for the project which will ease the problem of traffic congestion in the city.

Adityanath is the head priest of Gorakhnath temple, which is a prominent centre of faith for Hindus in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Yogi Adityanath paid an unschedule­d visit to Gorakhpur on Friday.

Adityanath later held a review meeting with officials on the Covid situation and developmen­t projects at Gorakhnath temple.
