‘Poor crowd management’ at Lohia instt

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday visited Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences here while two senior ministers inspected other hospitals in the state capital.

During inspection of the emergency department, the chief minister pointed at ‘poor crowd management’ at Lohia institute and asked officials to take care of it. “Why is this crowd there?” the chief minister asked.

After reaching the Lohia institute at 10.30am, the chief minister first went to see facilities in the emergency department. He told officials that the number of attendants with patients should be limited.

He also pointed out that mattresses without bedsheets were placed on stretchers. Institute director Prof AK Tripathi said these stretchers were used to transport suspected coronaviru­s patients and hence they were sanitised each time and the bed sheets were changed accordingl­y.

Medical education minister Suresh Khanna inspected facilities at the King George’s Medical University (KGMU) and asked officials to improve cleanlines­s there. Khanna inspected the Centenary Hospital, phases 1 and 2 as well as Queen Mary’s Hospital. Health minister Jai Pratap Singh inspected the facilities at Balrampur Hospital.
